Sucre

Sucre
Only three hours form Potosí, is Sucre, the official Bolivian capital, a pleasant valley city with an excellent climate, college environment, and also a declared Humanity Patrimony declared by the Unesco. Visit the 25 de Mayo Square and its surroundings, with big palaces and white houses; the San Felipe Church, San Lázaro, San Francisco and the Recoleta. Don´t miss the Glorietta Palace, located in the outsides of the city, an imposing and Gorky mansion built in the XIXth century, by the Argandoña, a wealthy family. It has ten different styles of architectonic and it posses beautiful gardens.

Tarabuco

Only 60 kms from Sucre, on concrete road, the town of Tarabuco is found. It was founded by the Spaniards during the second half of the XVIth century. It is characterized by the presence of the various native communities which still keep their costumes and traditions. Their garments are appreciated by the quality of their textures. On Sundays a fair takes part where they sell textiles and handicrafts. Every third Sunday of March, the Pujllay is celebrated. A cultural manifestation takes part, in memory of the Jumbate battle which occurred in the year 1816, when the Spaniards where defeated by the indigenous people.

Dinosaur footprints
Dinosaur footprints were discovered by the employees of the cement factory, Cal Orckó. The place has over 68 million years of age and only a few kilometres away form the city of Sucre, it is one of the most important dinosaur residues of the world, since it counts with more than 7.000 footprints and 200 traces.

Jatum Yampara
It is considered to be an indigenous nucleus of the cultural values. Yampara is one of the most antique continents, in which you can appreciate the typical housings, garments, and the original indigenous costumes, which are dedicated to the elaboration of textiles, ceramics and handicrafts.
