Cochabamba
This
colonial city is surrounded by fertile valleys which are feeded
by waters coming form Los Andes. It has an eternal spring climate,
which goes around the 20 degrees celcius and it also has an imperturbable
province environment, although it is the third city of Bolivia.
In Cochabamba, as in every Bolivian city, you can´t leave
without seeing the central square, 14 de Septiembre, surrounded
by imponent colonial buildings and a great quantity of churches:
Santo Domingo, San Francisco, Santa Teresa´s convent, The
Company. In this city, there is also, a good archeological Museum,
small but useful to understand the herogliphics and preincaican
textiles of the original towns of this zone.
Chapare- Villa Tunari
It
is a tropical area with magnificent vegetation such as orchids,
rivers and hotels with pools and natural ponds. There is an abundant
fauna like birds and fish. You can go on foot through the Machia
Inti Wara Park for 3.2 kms, in order to watch the various animals
which are under experts care, as well as enjoy small baths under
small cascades. There are also small nocturn bird caves for birds
such as the The Guacharos.
Parque Nacional de Toro Toro
It
is considered a beautiful arid sight, where many secrets of time
are kept. It has a great scientific value specially for geologist,
archeologist, botanics etc. Here you can find fossils between the
archeological ruins and old paintings on the walls. A few kilometers
from town you can find the famous taberns of “ Umajalanta”,
in which´s interior a lagoon where blind fish live is hidden.
You can also find dinosaur footprints and traces of other animals
that one lived here more than 15 million years ago.
